Calling all dancers!

Bare Bait Dance is auditioning for its 15th season in Missoula, Montana. We are looking for dancers to join us for our upcoming production season with performance opportunities August 2025 - April 2026.

We are looking for dancers with

  • strong skills in contemporary dance technique, improvisation and dance theater

  • relevant stage experience

  • willingness to be involved in the choreographic process

  • interest in collaborating with both local and guest dancers and choreographers

  • interest in the collective spirit of a professional company - (company members expected to support ticket sales, sponsor relations, etc)

Bare Bait Dance aims to reflect the diversity in our region and the field of contemporary dance on a whole. We encourage BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Two-spirit, & Gender diverse dancers to audition.

We are offering

  • 9-month Company Contracts, Guest Performer show-contracts, and other collaborative opportunities

  • performance opportunities include fully produced concerts and smaller one-off performances

  • weekly Company Classes and Master Workshops with Guest Artists

  • potential regional tour, community outreach and teaching opportunities, dependent on availability and experience

  • collaborative opportunities to work on video projects during and before the official season begins

  • pay dependent on experience and position offered

Who should audition?

While our priority is hiring full-season, professional dancers, we are also looking to include guest performers on a show-to-show basis. If you are interested in collaborating and performing with BBD in any capacity during the season, please consider auditioning.

This audition also acts as the audition for Apprentice Dancers (ages 14 - 18) and University of Montana Performance Interns to dance with us in our upcoming season.
