Caroline Davis + Michelle Boulé + Naomi Moon Siegel
Caroline Davis + Michelle Boulé + Naomi Moon Siegel
Saturday, April 5 @ 7:30pm (Doors open at 7:00pm)
Award-winning artists Caroline Davis (NYC), Michelle Boulé (MT), and Naomi Moon Siegel (MT) unite for an evening of improvisation. Blending saxophone, trombone, movement, and electronics, they create a dynamic performance that pushes artistic boundaries and immerses audiences in a mesmerizing world of sound and motion. A rare experience you won’t want to miss.
Runtime: 70 minutes with a brief pause
MUSE by Kinetic Convergence Dance Collective
Six choreographers. Five pieces. One show.
MUSE, the exciting new production from Kinetic Convergence Dance (KCD), dismantles the age-old myth of the artist and muse relationship. Instead, it proposes a new question: when creation hinges on objectification, who is in control... and at what cost?
In a departure from traditional modes of dance creation, six choreographers bring five distinct creative processes to the stage, exposing the contradictions and shared truths that exist among them. Forget about “too many cooks in the kitchen” - this is about the artists. The passion. The volatility. The messiness of creative inspiration itself. In this extravaganza of multiplicities, where contradictions dance alongside irrationality, the lines between love and commodification blur. Muse invites audiences to witness the creative process in its provocative honesty. Who gets to create? Who gets to be created? Who, what, or where are our muses? KCD's new show promises to tackle these questions - and more - in the most entertainingly uncomfortable ways.

“OUT-OF-TOWNERS (RACHAEL LINCOLN AND LESLIE SEITERS) BLOW IN LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR WHEN THEY REMIND YOU OF THINGS THAT WE FORGET ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN OUR DAILY LIVES…” - LAist Performance review, Los Angeles
about the show
Long Playing is inspired by the list of the greatest 150 albums made by women since 1964, compiled by fifty women from across National Public Radio and the public radio system. The list of albums acts as an intervention, a remedy, and a correction of the historical record. Long Playing is an homage to this endeavor and an embodied tribute to the women who made the list and the women who made it onto the list.
Cast & collaborators
CHOREOGRAPHED & PERFORMED by Rachael Lincoln & Leslie Seiters
ABOUT THE artists
With over a decade of creating and performing together, Rachael Lincoln and Leslie Seiters explore the potentials of the duet form, mining the format to reveal the complex intersections of how and who we are in relation to what or whom we meet. Their collaborative work integrates influences from contemporary dance, visual art, literary fiction, and theater, evoking moments when movement becomes language, objects become characters, and everyday logic is suspended. Rather than relying on a known process or style, Lincoln and Seiters continue to meet in a collaborative process that uses their long history on the stage and in the studio together to find new ways of working that are specific to the project at hand. This approach supports the company’s mission to present deeply investigated material, resulting in work with a sense of history, internal logic and integrity.

REVEAL WORKSHOP: FICTION | FRICTION | FLOW 2 PLAYING WITH PROPS
Monday, February 24th *This workshop meets in conjunction with BBD Open Company Class
5:30-7:00pm
PLAYING WITH PROPS
In this workshop, we will play with practical and poetic uses of objects, space, and selves, skirting the line between functional and fantastic. We will slow down to sense more, and speed up to access our before-thinking impulses. Can we get better at making coincidences happen? Can mistakes, awkwardness, and disruptions be our guides? Can we fully feel brief glimpses of unexpected beauty? Ideas will be layered and we will tune our presence towards togetherness.
Rachael Lincoln & Leslie Seiters from Seattle, WA | San Francisco, CA

You will learn basic techniques, improvise solo and with a partner, and explore the opportunities of being suspended in a harness just above the ground. All gear provided.
