Celebration of Past and Future Ancestors is an Afro Latin dance, ritual, art party, and performance art event hosted by interdisciplinary Colombian artist Penélope Baquero. Participants will be invited to connect with ancestors, human and non-human by co-creating a simple shrine and dancing to the beats of the African Diaspora. Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Hip Hop, Bachata, Rumba, Flamenco, Afro Beat, Marimba, Soukous, and more!

Penélope was born and raised in Colombia. She is a dancer, painter, teacher, writer who finds extreme joy in hosting spaces where people connect and grow through the arts and the shared identity with being part of nature.
